A Google Sheets expense tracker that fills itself
MyPurrse is an Android app that writes every payment into a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive. It reads the payment alerts your bank and e-wallet apps already show, so you never type a row and never hand over a bank login.
Why budget templates stop getting filled in
A spreadsheet budget only works if every payment goes in. Most people keep it up for a week or two, then a busy day leaves gaps and the totals stop meaning anything. MyPurrse keeps the sheet and removes the typing: each payment alert becomes a row shortly after it arrives, down to the teh tarik you would never have logged.
How an alert becomes a row
- Pick your apps. Choose the bank and e-wallet apps MyPurrse may read, plus Messages if your bank sends SMS. Alerts from any other app are never read.
- The alert is labelled. Only the alert text goes to our API, where AI labels it income, expense, transfer or not a payment. Promotions, OTP codes and balance alerts are ignored.
- A row lands in your sheet. The payment is written to this month's sheet with the shop, amount, account and a category. Anything in another currency, or with an unclear amount, waits in To review for you to decide.
What the sheet looks like
There is one file per month, MyPurrse YYYY-MM, in a MyPurrse folder in your Google Drive, on every plan. Rows 1 to 3 hold a title, a one-line month summary and the column headers; payments start on row 4.

What each column means
- Type: Expense, Income or Transfer. Moving money between your own accounts is a Transfer, so it never counts as spending.
- Amount: signed, so spending and money sent out are negative.
- Paid to / from: the shop or person. Account: the app or card the money moved through.
- Amount (RM) and FX rate: the amount in your main currency, which the header names (RM, SGD, PHP or BND). For a local payment it repeats Amount; for a foreign one it holds the converted amount, with the rate in FX rate.
- Receipt: a link to the receipt photo in your Drive, if you scanned one.
- Added by: Auto, Manual or Receipt, set by MyPurrse, so you always know what was tracked automatically.
- Category: on spending only. A blank category means MyPurrse wasn't sure, and the app asks you.
Questions
Do I need to download a template?
No. MyPurrse creates the sheet for you: one file per month, named MyPurrse YYYY-MM, in a MyPurrse folder in your Google Drive.
Can I edit the sheet myself?
Yes. MyPurrse reads your sheet every time, so your edits show up in the app. Keep Type as Expense, Income or Transfer, and leave rows 1 to 3 (title, summary, headers) as they are.
Does MyPurrse keep a copy of my transactions?
No. Every row is written to a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive, on every plan. The MyPurrse server never stores your transactions, and the files stay yours if you delete the app.
Does MyPurrse need my bank login?
No. It only reads the payment alerts your bank and e-wallet apps already show on your phone. It never connects to a bank, never asks for your online banking password and cannot move money.
Is MyPurrse on Google Play yet?
Not publicly yet. MyPurrse is in beta on Android, and the Google Play listing opens to everyone in Q4 2026.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. iOS does not let an app read other apps' notifications, so MyPurrse is Android only for now. iPhone is on the roadmap with no date.
How much does MyPurrse cost?
Free reads alerts from 1 app. Pro is RM 6.90 a month for 3 apps and Max is RM 12.90 a month for 10 apps. Paying yearly gets 12 months for the price of 11.
MyPurrse is in beta on Android; the Google Play listing opens to everyone in Q4 2026.
